Unbeaten Zimbabwe march into Super 8s
New Delhi, Feb. 20 -- If you thought Zimbabwe defeating Australia was a fluke, think again. They defeated co-hosts Sri Lanka in their own backyard by six wickets to turn the dead rubber into a statement of sorts. In the 20-team tournament, Zimbabwe finished atop Group B and are amongst the only four unbeaten teams to make it to the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup.
Both teams had already qualified but Zimbabwe finished the group stage with the bragging rights and confidence as their caravan now moves to India. Chasing 179, Zimbabwe's Brian Bennett once again anchored the chase with an unbeaten 48-ball 63 before Tadiwanashe Marumani (34) and Ryan Burl (23) kept the chase on track with breezy knocks.
