India, Feb. 7 -- Old Delhi has hundreds of streets, each bearing a name that reflects its original shakhsiyat (character). Many streets were named after particular professions because they were once inhabited exclusively by people practising a single profession. Today, regardless of their names, these streets are professionally diverse, home to citizens exercising a range of occupations. But there was a time when Gali Choori Walan only had choori wale, Gali Manihar Wali had manihar wale, Gali Suiwalan had sui wale, Gali Sakke Wali had sakke wale, and Gali Jutey Wali had jutey wale-the shoe merchants.
