NEW DELHI, Jan. 27 -- An army officer who led a a precision strike against militants along the India-Myanmar border last year has been awarded Shaurya Chakra, India's third-highest peacetime gallantry award, officials aware of the matter said on Monday. Lieutenant Colonel Ghatage Aditya Shrikumar of 21 Para (Special Forces) planned and led the mission during July 11-13, which resulted in the complete destruction of a fortified militant camp and elimination of nine armed cadres including senior leadership of a notorious anti-national group through exemplary leadership and tactical brilliance, the officials said.
