New Delhi, April 23 -- The Supreme Court on Wednesday said it is hard to believe that private hospitals in Delhi are finding it difficult to get poor patients to fulfil their obligation under concessional land allotment agreements to provide free beds and treatment to economically weaker sections (EWS) of society. Going through responses received from several of the 51 hospitals facing contempt for flouting the obligation reinforced by a 2018 judgment, a bench of justices PK Mishra and NV Anjaria said: "The impression we are gathering is that most of the hospitals are not complying with our order."
