Revoke suspension of MPs, Oppn urges govt
New Delhi, March 14 -- Two days after the no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was defeated, a prominent section of Opposition leaders on Friday pushed the government to consider revoking the suspension of eight Lok Sabha lawmakers to allow them to attend the ongoing budget session.
The eight lawmakers, including seven from the Congress, were suspended on February 3 from the Lok Sabha for the remainder of the budget session.
According to a person aware of the details, a few Opposition leaders met Union parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju to consider the revocation.
