Political slugfest as 27 still missing after Kolkata godown fire
Kolkata, Jan. 30 -- With at least 27 people remain missing since a devastating fire gutted two warehouses near Kolkata earlier this week, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday slammed the Mamata Banerjee-led government demanding resignation of the fire department minister even as the Trinamool Congress accused the saffron party of politicising the issue ahead of assembly elections.
"We have received 27 missing complaints from families claiming that their kin, who worked in the two warehouses, remain untraceable till Thursday evening," an IPS officer from Baruipur police district said.
