New Delhi, March 10 -- Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday demanded a discussion in the Upper House on the emerging challenges to India's energy security due to the conflict in West Asia, even as he noted that developments in the region could have serious implications for India's economy.
"The rapidly changing geopolitical situation in West Asia is now having an impact on India's energy security," he said "...The outbreak of conflict will also have a direct impact on the economic stability of our country."
"...Around 1 crore Indians work in that region whose safety and livelihood depends on the state of the war... some Indian citizens have been killed or are missing," he added.
