India, Jan. 13 -- The youth of the country must resolve to take the nation out of the mentality of slavery, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday as he urged the youngsters to rid the nation of colonial-era education policies and move towards achieving the goal of developed India. "We have to undo the sins from 200 years ago when [Thomas] Macaulay introduced an education system that instilled a sense of slavery in our people.," he said at the concluding session of Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue.
