MCD clears ads on flyover ramps, subways with curbs
New Delhi, Jan. 22 -- Flyover ramps, underpasses and subways may soon carry outdoor advertisements in Delhi, as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) moves to revise its ad policy with tight safety controls and compulsory revenue sharing with the Public Works Department, officials said.
The MCD standing committee approved a proposal on Wednesday that allowed for advertisements along end-of-flyover ramps and the sidewalls of subways and underpasses. The policy preamble has been finalised after a series of communications between the corporation and the PWD.
