Maran opposes SpiceJet plea on Rs.144.5 cr deposit order
New Delhi, April 16 -- Kalanithi Maran and KAL Airways Pvt Ltd on Wednesday opposed before the Delhi High Court a plea by SpiceJet and its promoter Ajay Singh seeking a review of an order directing the airline to deposit Rs.144.5 crore in an ongoing arbitration dispute, calling it a tactic to delay payment.
Appearing for Maran, senior advocate Jayant Mehta told Justice Subramonium Prasad that the review petition was "misconceived" and disclosed no "error apparent" to justify reconsideration of the March 18 order.
