Bhubaneswar, Feb. 7 -- Nineteen Maoist cadres, including a couple carrying a reward of Rs.55 lakh each on their heads, surrendered before Odisha Police, officials aware of the details said on Friday. The cadres surrendered before the Rayagada district police on Thursday, director general of police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania said during a press conference. The DGP said the surrendered cadres included Nikhil alias Niranjan Raut from Jagatsinghpur, who has been active in the state's forests for more than two decades and headed the outfit's Bansadhara-Ghumusar-Nagavali division. He surrendered along with his wife Ankita alias Rashmita Lenka. Both Nikhil and Ankita carried a reward of Rs.55 lakh on their heads. Police also seized 14 firearms ...
