India, Jan. 31 -- Twenty-seven-year-old Omkar Shinde, arrested for the fatal stabbing of 33-year-old NM College lecturer Alok Singh, aboard a Mumbai local train has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days, after the Government Railway Police (GRP) told a court it had gathered sufficient evidence in the case.
Shinde, arrested by the Borivali GRP on Sunday, was produced before a magistrate on Friday. Police said they did not seek further custodial interrogation as they had already recovered the alleged murder weapon, the clothes worn by the accused at the time of the incident, and CCTV footage linked to the crime.
