Loyalties shift as MNS backs Sena bid to control KDMC, sans ally BJP
MUMBAI, Jan. 22 -- Political manoeuvring for control of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has led MNS chief Raj Thackeray and deputy chief minister and Shiv Sena chief, Eknath Shinde, to make some big moves that threaten to strain two key alliances forged for the recent municipal elections.
On Wednesday, the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) extended support to the Sena in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), adding crucial numbers to Shinde's quest for a majority in the corporation.
