India, May 16 -- Mafiosi-turned-politician and former MP Atiq Ahmad continues to be lodged in Naini Central Jail and has not been shifted to a high security prison in Gujarat, despite a recent Supreme Court order to make the shift. The former MP has filed nomination from Varanasi parliamentary seat against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He has twice filed a bail plea one at MP MLA Court and the other at the high court asking for three week bail for canvassing in Varanasi. However, the courts rejected both applications.
