Bengaluru, July 3 -- The Karnataka government on Wednesday moved the state's high court challenging the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) order that quashed the suspension of IPS officer Vikash Kumar Vikash following the June 4 stampede outside Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which left 11 people dead and over 50 others injured.
Advocate General Shashikiran Shetty, representing the state government, made an urgent mention before the court seeking an early hearing of its appeal. The law officer told a bench of justices SG Pandit and TM Nadaf that CAT passed its order "just yesterday (July 1)," and on Wednesday, Vikash had reported to duty. "He has come in uniform to take charge," Shetty told the court.
