New Delhi, Feb. 6 -- The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on Thursday admitted a class action lawsuit against manufacturing major, Jindal Poly Films, filed by the company's minority shareholders. NCLT Delhi president, Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and technical member Ravindra Chaturvedi held that the plea filed by the group of shareholders holding just 4.99% of the total share capital of the company, met the legal requirements to proceed under company law. By admitting the class action suit, the NCLT, for now, has only allowed the shareholders' claims to be examined in detail and has expressed no view on the legality of Jindal Poly Films' actions.
