New Delhi, May 7 -- Punjab FC were gift-wrapped victory by Chennaiyin FC in their home away from home to rise to sixth in the Indian Super League points standings on Wednesday. Their home game, at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, seemed to be meandering to a goalless draw when Chennaiyin defender Lalrinliana Hnamte diverted the ball into his goal in the 84th minute. Chennaiyin goalkeeper Mohammad Nawaz had produced a save which led to a corner. Off the set-piece effort, the ball deflected off Hnamte. The defeat, Chennaiyin's sixth of the season, leaves them 12th in the 14-team league with two matches to play. Punjab are sixth after a fifth win in 10 games.
