India, Jan. 25 -- Hundreds of tourists and local commuters were stranded in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand as heavy snowfall blanketed the regions. Many were forced to abandon their vehicles or spend the night in them, as rescue teams navigated blocked roads to reach those trapped.
