Bengaluru, April 24 -- The Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the state government to place on record a "comprehensive policy on the provision of medical care, particularly for patients suffering from serious illnesses," after a man was mistakenly shifted to a mortuary while alive at a government hospital, allegedly following denial of treatment for lack of an Aadhaar number. A division bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin issued the direction after state and hospital authorities informed the Court that the staff responsible for the negligence had been identified and "strict action" taken against them.
