Jamshedpur, Feb. 5 -- The Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday ordered the state government to immediately register a first information report (FIR) in connection with five minor thalassemia patients testing HIV-positive, allegedly after undergoing a blood transfusion at the Chaibasa Sadar Hospital in the West Singhbhum district last October, a lawyer aware of the matter said. "The single bench of justice Gautam Kumar Chaudhary directed the state government to immediately register an FIR forthwith and supply a copy of the same to the families of the victims and to the court along with a counter affidavit before the next hearing.
