Dehradun, Feb. 3 -- A case has been filed against the 46-year-old gym owner, who stood up for an elderly Muslim shopkeeper and confronted a group of right-wing outfit members in Kotdwar area of Pauri Garhwal district in Uttarakhand, police said on Monday, making it the third first information report (FIR) in the matter. In the fresh FIR, the complainant, Kamal Pal, a resident of Kotdwar, alleged that the gym owner, Deepak Kumar, also from Kotdwar, hurled caste-based slurs and attacked him with the intention to kill during a confrontation at a shop on January 26, when the issue began.
