New Delhi, March 11 -- Centre's definition of Aravallis, remediation of the Union Carbide waste from Bhopal and curbing delays in environmental clearances took the centre stage during a discussion on the functioning of the Union environment ministry in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. During the discussion, Neeraj Dangi, Congress MP from Jaipur, raised the issue of the Centre's controversial definition of Aravallis which was put on hold by the Supreme Court on December 29 and raised concerns about the impact of the Great Nicobar Infrastructure project on the Shompen and Nicobarese populations.
