India, March 26 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled senior leader and former Union Minister Basanagouda Patil Yatnal from the party for six years, citing repeated instances of indiscipline. The decision was announced on Wednesday by the party's Central Disciplinary Committee, which issued a statement instructing Yatnal to refrain from participating in any party-related activities.
According to the official statement, Yatnal had been issued a show cause notice on February 10. After reviewing his response, the committee determined that he had consistently disregarded party discipline, despite prior assurances of compliance. As a result, the BJP leadership decided to expel him with immediate effect.
