Bhopal/Rewa, March 2 -- Two women are on ventilator support while three others are in the ICU at the Government Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa as they fell unconscious after childbirth allegedly due to the side effects of a new anaesthesia drug administered during the caesarean procedure, the hospital administration said on Saturday.
All the women had undergone a C-section surgery on Friday evening and haven't gained consciousness since. Hospital superintendent Rahul Mishra said, "They were administered a new anesthesia drug which could be a reason behind their condition. We have stopped using the drug as of now." htc
