Lucknow, Jan. 24 -- Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer, Navdeep Rinwa on Friday said that voters who have received notices from Election Commission of India (ECI) and cannot attend the hearing in person have been exempted from appearing in person before Electoral Registration Officers (ERO) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO). Such voters must authorize a person to appear on their behalf by signing or affixing their thumbprint, indicating that the person will represent them at the hearing, he said.
