DMK wanted Left's support to AIADMK from outside: M.A. Baby
New Delhi, May 9 -- The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) told the Left parties to support the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) government from the outside, Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary MA Baby told HT on Friday. But the Left decided to back actor-turned-politician Vijay instead, he added.
"DMK wanted us to support the AIADMK government. But it would have been an opportunistic alliance," Baby told HT. He also added that DMK's plan was for the AIADMK to meet the governor to form the government.
