New Delhi, Jan. 27 -- The Congress on Monday refuted allegations that leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi refused to wear a gamusa (stole), which was given to all the guests in the NE-themed At Home event at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
A section of social media had claimed that Gandhi insulted Assamese culture by refusing the gamusa.
Reacting to the row, Congress leader Nasser Hussain, who accompanied Gandhi at the event said, "Rahul Gandhi was given the gamusa which he gladly wore. Later, while having snacks, he removed it. There is no question of disrespecting NE India."
