CM, ministers among LDF candidates
Thiruvananthapuram, March 16 -- The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) on Sunday announced its candidates for the upcoming Kerala assembly elections, fielding all incumbent ministers and most sitting MLAs, including chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan who will again contest from his bastion of Dharmadam.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) announced candidates in 81 of the 86 seats it is contesting, while the Communist Party of India named nominees for all 25 constituencies it will contest. Elections to the 140-member assembly is set to take place on April 9, with the results to be announced on May 4.
