New Delhi, Jan. 9 -- The Central Information Commission (CIC) has issued a show-cause notice to a Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) official and imposed a monetary penalty on a Delhi Jal Board official in two separate cases linked to the handling of applications under the Right to Information (RTI) Act. In one case, information commissioner Jaya Varma Sinha issued a show-cause notice to a CGHS official after finding inconsistencies in submissions regarding a beneficiary's claim about a prescribed medicine. In a separate order, chief information commissioner Raj Kumar Goyal imposed a Rs.10,000 fine on a DJB public information officer for a nearly two-year delay in responding to an RTI application.
