Silchar, Jan. 22 -- The Siliguri Corridor, popularly known as the Chicken's Neck and connecting the Northeast with the rest of the country, is no longer a vulnerable area, and claims or slogans about capturing the "Seven Sisters" from across the border do not hold ground today, former Army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane said on Wednesday. Speaking at the 33rd foundation day programme of Assam University in Silchar, he said the 22-km-wide corridor between Assam and West Bengal was once considered a strategic disadvantage.
