NAGPUR, Feb. 11 -- The Congress on Tuesday lost the Chandrapur Municipal Corporation's mayoral polls with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staging a dramatic comeback to regain control of the civic body with the help of Shiv Sena (UBT),
BJP's Sangeeta Khandekar defeated the Congress nominee Vaishali Mahadule by a razor-thin margin of one vote. The lone vote by a corporator of the Shiv Sena (UBT), an ally of the Congress in the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi, turned tables in favour of the BJP candidate. Shiv Sena (UBT) corporator Prashant Danav was elected the deputy mayor.
