Kolkata, Feb. 18 -- After dillydallying for over six months, the West Bengal government on Tuesday finally complied with the Election Commission's directive to register FIRs against four state government officers and a data entry operator, officials aware of the development said.
Meanwhile chief minister Mamata Banerjee slammed the poll panel, describing it as "Tughlaqi Commission which was terrorising the voters".
A senior official of the poll panel in New Delhi said that the state's chief secretary Nandini Chakravorty on Tuesday sent a letter to the ECI after complying with the commission's directives.
