Toronto, Jan. 4 -- An Air India pilot removed from a plane on December 23 for being under the influence of alcohol was placed under arrest, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced Friday. He was sent to India the following day. The Richmond detachment of the RCMP said it arrested the pilot at Vancouver International Airport "following a report of concern involving a crew member preparing to report for duty". The incident delayed AI Flight 186 to New Delhi by several hours before it departed safely with a replacement pilot. P2
