The internet set information free and the smartphone gave citizens a window-seat view of this flight. But the ride has only grown more turbulent. For decades, journalism was guided by a basic tenet - Comment is free, facts are sacred. In the century since the phrase was coined, comment is still free, but facts are now alternative.
