Bengaluru, Jan. 26 -- Three members of a family in southern Karnataka were arrested for assaulting a 58-year-old woman by tying her to a pole and beating her for nearly two hours, allegedly after her cow wandered into their field and damaged their crops, police said. The accused were booked under multiple provisions of the BNS, including criminal intimidation, and under sections of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, police said, citing the seriousness of the offence. The accused were produced before a court on Sunday, which remanded them to 14 days of judicial custody.
