Amritsar, Jan. 4 -- Another key accused has been arrested on Saturday in Punjab's Amritsar in connection with the case of the missing 328 saroops (physical copies) of the Guru Granth Sahib, police said. According to police, the accused, identified as Kanwaljit Singh, has been assistant superintendent of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) publishing house where the sacred saroops were found short in the record, and whose statement led human rights advocacy group Punjab Human Rights Organization to expose the alleged fraud in 2020.
