India, April 18 -- "It's a rocket machine", is how filmmaker Amrita Bagchi describes using an Apple iPhone to shoot her latest short film, Tinctoria, a psychological thriller inspired by actual historical events. Bagchi uses an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Rohin Raveendran Nair, a director, writer, and cinematographer whose credits include Netflix shows like Sacred Games and Black Warrant, shot his new short film on iPhone too. Kovarty, he says, takes him back to his roots deep in Kerala's breathtaking Alleppey backwaters, showcasing the relationship between a typewriter and typist. "Using iPhone's small form factor, I could place the camera inside the typewriter and capture its POV," he says.
