India, July 27 -- Ending months of speculation, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed on Saturday that the Asia Cup will take place this year from September 9 to September 28 in the UAE. It was further confirmed that India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group and could likely face each other thrice in the tournament. This left social media enraged as they called for the BCCI to "boycott" the Asia Cup.
The reaction stemmed from the same reason that had delayed the announcement of the Asia Cup dates.
