'Borrowing norms for states won't be diluted'
New Delhi, Feb. 5 -- The Budget on Sunday raised allocations under the 50-year interest free loans scheme to states by 33.3% to Rs.2 lakh crore in 2026-27. In an interview with HT , expenditure secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam says that while some of the reforms states have to effect to be eligible for these loans will remain, the government may also add some new ones to the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme.
