VASCO, April 26 -- Two Japanese P-3C Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft arrived in Goa to participate in a joint exercise with Indian Navy.

In October 2017, two P-3C Orion aircraft had conducted exercise with Indian Navy first time. This is third year in a row that the Japanese aircraft detachment conducting conducted joint exercise with Indian Navy off Goa

Indian Naval sources informed that the Japanese aircrafts landed at Dabolim Airport at 4.30 pm on April 23. The 34-members detachment was commanded by Commander Shinji Akamatsu of Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force. The specialty of these aircrafts is involved in Anti-Piracy Patrol at Gulf of Aden in the Arabian Sea.
