PONDA, June 3 -- The Ponda locals on Tuesday urged the government to stop the sewerage chamber digging works as the heavy rainfall caused havoc in the city.

The commuters found themselves very difficult to navigate on the slippery roads, giving an opportunity to call it accident prone.

The locals want the sewerage work to be stopped in the rains to prevent accidents as the roads are becoming slippery due to mud removed from digging the chambers and dumped at the roadside, making it unmotorable.

To add to the problem, on Tuesday, the workers damaged 150 mm dia water supply pipeline causing water shortage to the Durbhat residents.
