Brief Summary: How syphilis is transmitted between sexual partners is unclear. Asymptomatic detection i.e. detection of syphilis bacteria (Tp) from anatomical sites without lesions, in patients with syphilis infection, suggests that asymptomatic transmission from these sites may play a role.
