India, Jan. 8 -- Jana Nayagan, the much-anticipated Tamil cinema starring Vijay, was expected to be the big ticket opening for Tamil cinema in 2026, following a dry period of December in which theatres experienced a lull phase. After scheduled releases like Karthi's Vaa Vaathiyaar, Pradeep Ranganathan-starrer Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) failed to hit theatres in December, Tamil cinema fans and theatre owners, were pinning hopes on Jana Nayagan, given it is Vijay's last film before retiring from cinema. But with the censor delays, Jana Nayagan too has been postponed by the makers. Now with Parasakthi release (due on January 10), also in troubled waters, Tamil Nadu theatres are haunted by unexpected delays, leading to a dry phase.
