Kathmandu, Jan. 1 -- Fog affecting most parts of the Tarai is likely to gradually improve after midday on Thursday, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

During the day, the weather will remain partly cloudy in the high hilly and Himalayan regions, including Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. One or two places in the high hills and mountains of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces may receive light rain or snowfall.

At night, fog is expected to persist across much of the Tarai. The high hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces will see partly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country will remain mainly fair.
