Chitwan, June 21 -- Seven people, including a pregnant woman, lost their lives in a road accident along the East-West (Mahendra) Highway in Chitwan on Saturday morning.

According to Chitwan District Police, the crash occurred at around 10:15 am near the Khahare Bridge in ward 4 of Rapti Municipality.

"Seven people died and at least 14 others were injured when a passenger bus travelling from Dhangadhi to Kakarbhitta collided with an electric microbus heading towards Narayanghat from Makawanpur this morning," Superintendent of Police Govinda Puri said.

He informed that the injured are receiving treatment at four hospitals in Bharatpur. The officials are in the process to ascertain the identities of the deceased.
