Kathmandu, Nov. 6 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell by 11.29 points on Thursday, continuing its volatility after Wednesday's 12.17-point gain. The benchmark index dropped by 0.43 percent to close at 2,596.12 points.

Out of the companies traded, share prices of 77 increased, 165 declined, and 9 remained unchanged. As the number of losing companies outpaced gainers, the overall market index ended in negative territory.

Despite the decline, market turnover increased compared to the previous session. A total of 10.86 million shares worth Rs5.41 billion were traded in 50,437 transactions. On Wednesday, the transaction amount stood at Rs4.68 billion.
