India, Jan. 9 -- Zinc prices in futures trade inched higher on Friday, rising by Rs 2.55 to Rs 310.70 per kg, supported by limited buying at lower levels despite the absence of major fresh triggers.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India, zinc contracts for February delivery gained Rs 2.55, or 0.83 per cent, to trade at Rs 310.70 per kg, with a turnover of 1,425 lots.

Traders said the marginal rise in zinc futures was driven by selective demand at lower prices, although overall market sentiment remained cautious due to a lack of fresh cues.
