India, April 7 -- Silver prices declined by Rs 1,479 to Rs 2.31 lakh per kg in futures trade on Tuesday, as rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia and inflation concerns weighed on market sentiment.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for May delivery fell 0.63% to Rs 2,31,900 per kg, with a turnover of 5,873 lots.

Analysts noted that silver remained under pressure as traders continued to track geopolitical developments and their potential impact on global growth and monetary policy.
