India, Feb. 13 -- The rupee depreciated by 8 paise to 90.69 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday, weighed down by a stronger greenback and weakness in domestic equity markets.
Forex traders noted that the firm US dollar continued to pressure emerging market currencies, including the rupee. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic currency opened at 90.69, marking a decline of 8 paise compared to its previous close.
