India, Sept. 17 -- The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has strengthened its Request for Proposal (RFP) provisions to enhance the quality, transparency, and timely execution of national highway projects. The revised norms tighten contractor qualification criteria, restrict unauthorized subcontracting, and improve financial accountability in project execution.
A key change clarifies the definition of "Similar Work" in bid qualification. Only completed highway projects with all major components comparable to the proposed work will be considered, preventing bidders with experience in minor or peripheral tasks from qualifying for large-scale projects.
